Hoot Cardigan

I think I am in love with these little cable owls.  They are just so cute!  It should come as no surprise that they were the inspiration for my latest design.  Hoot Cardigan is a unisex cardigan that is knit all in one piece from the top down. Using worsted weight, this cardi knits up quick! Perfect baby shower gift, especially when the gender of the baby is not yet known!

details...
pattern: Hoot Cardigan by Brenna Kotar
yarn:  Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Rich Chocolate
size:  Newborn
my ravelry link: Hoot Cardigan
This pattern is available for free!

Pattern Notes: Hoot Cardigan is knit from the top down. Button holes are worked every 12 rows. First 3 stitches and last 3 stitches of each row make up garter stitch button band . For raglan increases, you will be knitting into the front and back of each stitch before the marker and after the marker. The body of the cardigan is knit in stockinette stitch, minus the owl cable pattern and button bands of course. If you have any questions, please contact me at beknitpicky@gmail.com

Skill: Beginner to Intermediate. Must know how to do cables, yarn overs and knit two stitches together. I wrote the pattern assuming that the Knitter knows how to keep track of button hole rows and the owl cable pattern without writing row by row out.

  4. Really? That would be wonderful. Adelaide would absolutely love this cardigan! I'm also hoping to make her one of the knit/sewn dresses that you made for Kate last summer.
