Thank you for joining me for this week's edition of 'Flashback Friday'.
This week I bring to you a very special FO that I made back when I didn't know how to increase or decrease. In fact, at the time, I didn't even know how to purl. *gasp* I would LOVE to see this FO in person (it was a gift) and see just how I managed to actually make this. It must be a sight. However, to the non-knitter's eye, one would never know.
I bring to you 'The Ute'.
(PATTERN: Womb by MK Carroll)
Here's what I had to say about it back in July 2006:
"My sister and her wife tried having a baby for about 3 years. She found this pattern and asked me to knit this for her as a good luck charm. At the time I knitted this, I was pregnant (with my first son) and when I was finished, I rubbed it on my belly for good luck. My sister in law is now pregnant and due in November and my sister is pregnant with twins! Coincidence? I think not! How exciting!!!!"
My sister and her family. May 2011.
This November marks my nephew's 4th birthday and the twins turn 4 in March. My oldest son turns FIVE in October. How did this happen? *Sigh* Time really does go by so fast.
On a side note, 1 year ago today we found out we were expecting Baby K.
I still find it amusing that you knitted that.
ReplyDeleteHi Brenna! It's nice to hear from you again. I just checked into your blog and read up on all the posts since K was born. For your baby onesie pattern, is the gauge 18sts = 4"? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHello Jessica! The gauge for the onesie pattern is: Gauge: 17 stitches for 4” and 25 rows in 4”
